Education Programs

Stand Strong - Students participate in a scavenger hunt designed to guide them through the museum and encourage them to utilize interactive exhibits and to examine artifacts. Museum staff leads students through a discussion of the concepts of Determination, Courage, Fairness, Teamwork, and Responsibility. This program can be adapted to fit all age groups.

Sports Figures - Students use statistics and information throughout the Museum to solve math problems. This math program can be used in conjunction with ESPN's Sports Figures video series. Museum staff works with teachers to develop questions suitable to students' abilities and needs. Grades 3-8.

Careers in Sports - Students learn about non-athletic careers in the sports industry. Speakers discuss their educational background and the paths they took to accomplish their goals. Students visit The Sports Museum before or after they listen to the speaker. Classes are encouraged to have questions prepared for the speaker. Grades 5-12.

The Will McDonough Writing Contest - Students can create a fiction or non-fiction essay relating to the topic of sports and the concepts of teamwork, sportsmanship, respect, perseverance or cooperation.

The TD Garden and The Sports Museum require that all visitors have any baggage searched. To expedite this process, please have students leave their bags on the bus or at school if possible.
